Responsibilities:
 
  • Perform purchasing, sourcing, sub-contracting and (supplier/delivery completion) follow up work for assigned business unit.
  • Perform cost reduction initiative in all Key Purchasing activities.
  • Assist Quality Department and Purchasing/Supply Chain Department in the evaluation of supplier’s performances, approval and capabilities, focusing on cost effectiveness without compromising on Quality and customer’s requirement.
  • Conduct price negotiation with Supplier/Vendor and prepare price comparison matrix for management’s approval.
  • Work with Quality Department to resolve all Purchasing NCRs issue.
  • Monitor and carry out expediting work to all purchasing activities.

  • Front End Design experience covering project scope development and cost and schedule estimating
  • Must be a member of professional body from home country in line with registration with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).

Senior Project Engineer

Overview:
You are attached to Tetra Pak Processing Department which provides Complete Processing Equipment & Solution. You will perform process engineering tasks associated with quotation, designing and implementing processing systems to liquid dairy, beverage and food industry. You will work hand to hand with the Processing Sales Manager especially in the pre-sales design stage and project implementation stage. You will also act as Project Manager to manage new or upgrading projects and be accountable to ensure on-time delivery, quality control, customer satisfaction and cost effectiveness. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to be groomed for Leadership Position in the Processing Project Team.
 
Main Responsibilities will be:
  • Conduct and manage pre-project work and quotation development in conjunction with the Processing Sales team and Key Account Manager
  • Perform engineering calculations, design, simulation and equipment specifications of systems/modules/plant
  • Provide coaching and supervision to junior engineers
  • Conduct process training for customer personnel on systems/module
  • Ensure that project processes and procedures are adhered to
  • Be informed about the budgeted cost for the task at hand and report discrepancies as Project Manager
  • Ensure the projects handled in the project team are delivered on time and on cost
  • Make sure that the engineering solution complies with the scope of the contract
  • Evaluate impact of changes in the scope, design or variation orders

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Food Science Engineering Degree.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in Project Management and Process Design preferably from liquid dairy, chemical or pharmaceutical industries
  • Experience in Auto-Cad Design and reviewing technical drawing
  • Supervisory or people management experience to lead a team would be an added advantage
  • Manage product development and engineering works in international and process oriented industrial environments
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and team building skills with a proven track-record of achievement.
  • Analytical and well organized, you are able to operate in a complex international environment.
