Responsibilities:
- Fully in-charge of maritime safety and the protection of the marine environment.
- Overall command and fully responsible for the safety of his vessel/barge and all those on board at all times.
- Total command during an “emergency at sea” and for all barge movements.
- Prepare all of the anchor patterns for the barge for Management approval.
- Ensures that all vessels included in the Spread have valid documentation at all times.
- Fully conversant with, and capable of administering the daily activities of the Spread incl. catering, housekeeping, safety and communications time keeping.
- To ensure that all vessels in the Spread have daily logs, reports, timesheets prepared promptly and efficiently.
- To assign safe mooring areas for vessels associated with the Spread.
- Directly responsible for the safe and efficient functioning of all equipment and personnel under his command. He shall be responsible for the maintenance of all marine gears and equipment.
- To conduct weekly “Emergency Muster and Abandonment” drills.
Requirements:
- Hold a Certificate of Competency in accordance to STWC ’95 Master Regulation. II/2 Master Unlimited (Foreign Going Masters Certificate).
- Minimum 10 years sea-going experience as deck officer, working in the offshore oil & gas industry.
- Strong communications skillls in English and/or Bahasa Malaysia
- Contract positions available.
